# Terms and legal notice

### General

The Taraxa network and blockchain are currently non-operational due to the original core team leaving the project and shutting down their nodes, servers, services, and related infrastructure.

Anything previously operated by the core team no longer exists, including RPC services, validators, indexers, the original website, staking infrastructure, and the bridge used to transfer funds from the Ethereum blockchain to the Taraxa blockchain.

We are **not affiliated**, associated, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with the original Taraxa core team, Taraxa Foundation, Phragmites Inc., or any entity that previously operated the project.

We are an **independent community of volunteers** running infrastructure for free. Taraxa is an open-source blockchain project, and we are free to use it as a community initiative.

### Trademark & Brand Usage

“Taraxa” is a trademark (or common-law mark) historically associated with the original project. We use the name “Taraxa” and any related terms solely in a **fair, nominative, and descriptive manner** to refer to the open-source blockchain technology and network.

We do **not** claim any ownership of the “Taraxa” name, logo, or other brand assets. The official logo and visual branding elements remain the intellectual property of their respective owners (if any still exist) and are not used here in a way that suggests official endorsement or affiliation.

If you wish to use the official Taraxa logo or branding on your own materials, you should seek permission from the rights holder. We encourage the community to create and use original visuals where possible to avoid confusion.

Any third-party use of the name “Taraxa” in connection with community initiatives must include clear disclaimers of non-affiliation, similar to this one.

### Intellectual Property & Open Source

The Taraxa blockchain software is open-source and licensed under permissive licenses (primarily MIT). Anyone is free to use, modify, fork, and run the code.

This website, its tools, and any original content created by the volunteer community (excluding any third-party assets) are provided in the spirit of open collaboration. However, we do not grant any rights to use our specific website design, code, or materials for commercial purposes without explicit permission.

**We respect all third-party intellectual property rights and ask users to do the same.**

### Usage

The website is provided free of charge. It offers tools and services intended to help rebuild the infrastructure and map the community by identifying enthusiasts who may want to rejoin the project.

The tools and services offered by this website are under active development and may contain bugs or limitations. You use them at your own risk.

### Disclaimer of Liability

This website and all services are provided **“as is”** and **“as available”** without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We are not responsible for any losses, including but not limited to financial losses, loss of funds, or damages arising from the use of this website, the Taraxa network, past events, or any actions taken based on information provided here.

Use of this platform is entirely at your own risk. The volunteer operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

### Community Governance

This is a decentralized, volunteer-driven community initiative with no central legal entity or foundation behind it. Decisions are made collaboratively by participating volunteers.
